Milpark often allows students who have been rejected by other institutions as the institution has completely different requirements when it comes to student admissions.
Academic co-ordinator for CA Connect at Milpark Education, Louise Maritz, explains, “CA Connect is not lowering the bar when it comes to entrance requirements for the PGDA and CTA. Students still need to have an appropriate degree, same as elsewhere. But we are more openminded when it comes to marks and are also more flexible on other requirements and study particulars.”
Many students suffer health problems, family issues, having to deal with a sudden increase of responsibility at work or other personal problems during their studies. Milpark is extremely approachable when it comes to postponing exams or providing deferred dates for deadlines, always willing to meet students where they are in life.
Almost all Milpark students say that the level of preparation by lecturers and input from staff exceeds what they encountered at other institutions. The system of support is so much better too – from the way the course is structured, with videos and interactive content, to the time you have with lecturers to explain difficult concepts.
The addition of motivational content and inspirational messages that helped to buoy Milpark students after poor test results was another feature non-existent at other institutions. Common feedback is that students don’t feel alone at Milpark – even if they are studying online.
The stories of former Milpark students really encourages current students, who often hear stories very similar to their own in the success stories of others. The fact that others have managed to overcome their challenges to pass their course is a huge motivator.
This is a game changer, especially for students who have issues with weak internet connectivity or who worry about loadshedding and how that will affect their ability to view lectures online etc. It takes a lot of stress away to know that this is an option.
