Corporate governance practice is an integral part of good management practice also permeating the entire operation, and not an esoteric specialism addressed by lawyers, auditors and sociologists” (Applied Corporate Governance, 2016). Business morality or ethics must permeate the entire operation from top to bottom and be embraced by all stakeholders. 

The purpose of this course is to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills in the area of corporate governance. Students will explore how the values, beliefs and ethos a company subscribes to should be reflected in the practices of the organisation, and how decision-making models drive appropriate objectives.

About the Programme

This programme is designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills in corporate governance, ensuring they understand the importance of ethical practices in business operations. 

Students will explore the various facets of governance and how these relate to corporate governance; the need for good corporate governance, and its application through various codes and acts; corporate governance in relation to risk management; and the requisite leadership to drive good governance.
