How to Apply

Embarking on your journey at Milpark involves two key stages. First, if you haven’t been admitted to a qualification yet, you’ll need to apply for admission or pre-admission (if applicable) to your chosen qualification. Once admitted, you’ll proceed to the second stage of the process, which is to register for your modules for either the academic year, cycle, or semester. If your qualification spans more than one year or you can’t register for all your modules at once, you’ll have opportunities to register for further modules throughout the academic year depending on your mode of study, or when registration opens for the next academic year.

Yes, at Milpark Education, our distance online learning programmes allow you to plan and structure your studies around your life and commitments. Our courses and resources are designed to support and empower you to achieve your learning and career goals while balancing your full-time job.

Since our establishment in 1997, Milpark Education has grown into an internationally recognised institution. Our programmes are benchmarked against global standards, ensuring top-tier education.

In South Africa, all higher education programmes must be quality assured by the Council on Higher Education's Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). After HEQC approval, programmes are registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training and listed on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), administered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Milpark proudly offers the first, online AMBA-accredited (Association of MBAs) MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Africa. We also hold SAICA accreditation (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) for our Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting, offered through the School of Professional Accounting (incorporating CA Connect).

When studying for your Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree at Milpark Education, you can choose the general BCom stream or specialise with a major from one of our three schools.

The School of Commerce offers majors in Compliance and Risk Management or Taxation. The School of Professional Accounting provides a BCom in Accounting. The School of Financial Services offers majors in Banking, Financial Planning, Investment Management, Short-term Insurance, Credit, or Banking and Investment Management.

If you're looking to enter the business and commerce industry, a BCom degree is one of the most popular choices due to its versatility.

By studying a BCom degree at Milpark, you’ll develop your business acumen and management skills through comprehensive knowledge in key business areas. Choose from 11 different BCom major options or opt for the general BCom degree programme.

The field of commerce offers many well-paying job opportunities. Students at Milpark choose diverse career paths based on their interests and goals after completing their commerce qualification. Your success depends on your journey and dedication.

To pursue a commerce degree at Milpark, you need a minimum of an E symbol in Higher Grade Mathematics or a D in Standard Grade.

If you don't meet the mathematics requirement, you may still be admitted by completing the BCom bridging programme. This is available if you have an E in Higher Grade or a C in Standard Grade in two of the following subjects:

  • Economics
  • Business Economics
  • Accounting
  • Physical Science or Physics/Chemistry
  • Natural Science or Biology

NSFAS only covers public institutions and TVET Colleges. As a private higher education institution, Milpark Education does not offer NSFAS funding. However, we provide select bursaries and work closely with Capitec to offer financial aid to prospective students. Learn more about our Capitec partnership here.

Yes, Milpark Education offers bursaries based on academic performance and financial need. Applications typically open in September and close in November for the following year. Please note, bursaries are not available for the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA/CTA) and Advanced Accounting (Bridging Short Course to PGDA/CTA).
